[Video] ‘Freedom Run’ – This nostalgic piece will make us feel proud as well

This nostalgic video – ‘Freedom Run’ by the good old Doordarshan features our gems in track and field. The first telecast of this video  was on August 15, 1988, to mark the 41st year of Independence.

The video features stalwarts like PT Usha, Milkha Singh, Shiny Wilson,  veteran cricketers – Mansoor Ali Khan Patuadi, Dileep Vengsarkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, badminton ace – Prakash Padukone and more.

We have such great legends who have made us proud in front the whole world, not one time but many times in the past.

In the passing of time we witnessed how gloriously that legacy was carried forward by the subsequent sports generations which came.

We can be sure when we say that our present contingent needs to draw no more inspiration for performing well in Olympics.
