Sunday ho ya Monday, roj khao ande. At least, that’s what this stealer snake teaches us!

How do you react when you find someone stealthily eating your share of food? When Laura Neff caught the rat snake red-handed, she recorded a video of it.

Apparently, the 4-ft black snake was an uninvited guest who found its way into Neff’s home in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sunday and was feasting on their eggs.

“It was a run of the mill Sunday afternoon here on our little farmette, until a noise in the kitchen made us look up … at the spice cabinet … where THIS was descending toward a basket of fresh eggs on the counter,” she wrote in a description of the video.

Slinging from the spice cabinet, the snake was trying hard to wolf down an egg  just when Neff entered the kitchen.

However, Neff, who has green fingers, clarified that the snake is a non-venomous rat snake which is commonly sighted in the region. They are strong constrictors that usually eat birds, rodents and eggs, outside of the house, of course!

The farmer and her partner let the hungry reptile finish off its meal and then they nudged it out of their house using two brooms. How generous!
