Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who recently marked one year in office, is now facing severe flak for a remark he recently made a meeting with the Indian community in Shanghai.
Quoted in a foreign media, Modi said his year in office had given Indians abroad a new pride in the country. “Earlier you felt ashamed of being born Indian,” he added.
This comment from the prime minister has touched a raw nerve with not only the Congress and other opposition parties, but also the common masses. Calling it as #ModiInsultsIndia, people took to Twitter to lash out at Narendra Modi.
