Dil Chahta Hai released on August 10, 2001. Farhan Akhtar made his debut as a writer/director with this movie, and it starred Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Preity Zinta, Dimple Kapadia and Sonali Kulkarni. The movie, which was initially slammed by critics for being too ahead of its time, turned out to be a runaway hit with all the humor, confused aspirations and realistic take on messed up relationships. It was a game-changer for the way Bollywood portrayed friendships. 15 years later, people both young and old still relate to the movie and consider it as the coolest youth movie ever. We are all irresponsible when we are young. When Akash’s father asked him to get serious about life, Akash just laughed it off.

Akash and Sid knew that Priya was more of a boss to Sameer than a girlfriend. When Sameer forgot to call her, Akash told him to grow some balls, well, in a subtle way!

And when Sameer finally called Priya, it was the most hilarious phone conversation ever!

On planning an annual trip to Goa, when Sid told them that eventually they would all go on a different path to build their careers, Sameer said something that we all say to our friends all the time!
